About Me

I am a fitness enthusiast who loves strength training, sprinting and eating clean. I'm having fun pursuing a healthy, fit lifestyle.

After participating in sports in my early years, I hit a period of time of inactivity in terms of exercise, even though my work as a homebuilder could be very physical at times. About six years ago I got back into the gym consistently. It was challenging but I worked with a trainer and made immediate progress. I was strength training 3 days a week and over time I added more plyometrics, intervals and sprinting for cardio on my non-lifting days. I was amazed at how my body responded. Once I developed the habit of exercising and changed my eating habits, I got back into shape.

In April 2008 I met with another trainer who encouraged me to compete in a bodybuilding contest. He helped me prepare, which meant shedding more body fat. I've now placed first as a Grandmaster at the Tennessee State competition as well as the Pittsburgh Masters Nationals.

I enjoy my children and grandchildren and can do so much with them due to my level of fitness. I feel strong and healthy. I'm continuing on my journey of building muscle and staying lean, and now have a home gym where I can do most any workout. Truly I am blessed to be able to exercise the way I do at my age.

It is quite possible that I'm in the best shape of my life now. Preparation has started for another season of bodybuiding, which has been a great avenue for me to share my love of fitness and faith. I am proof it's never too late to get started!
